Brew Day Prep

First, let me post this link, its fairly humorous: http://www.oilempire.us/canada.html. I like the maps.

Anyway, here is what I'm brewing tomorrow. If you don't want to read the entire promash dump, the recipe basically is:

Grain/Extract/Sugar
% Amount Name Origin Potential SRM
71.8 3.70 kg. _Pale Malt (2-row) Harrington Canada 1.037 2
13.6 0.70 kg. _Crystal 40L unk 1.034 40
9.7 0.50 kg. _Munich Malt - Dark Germany 1.037 9
3.9 0.20 kg. _Unmalted Torrified Wheat unk 1.033 2
1.0 0.05 kg. _Black Malt unk 1.030 525

Potential represented as SG per pound per gallon.

Hops
Amount Name Form Alpha IBU Boil Time
28.35 g. _Fuggles 3.6% Pellet 3.60 16.0 90 min
21.27 g. _Fuggles Pellet 4.60 15.4 90 min
14.18 g. _Fuggles Pellet 4.60 1.6 5 min

Extras
Amount Name Type Time
1.00 Tsp Irish Moss Fining 15 Min.(boil)

Yeast
WYeast 1318 London Ale III

Well, there you have it. It should be a pretty decent recipe. I still don't have a malt mill, so I have to drive down to the homebrew shop first thing tomorrow morning to get them to grind my grains. I've been working on my own "Easymasher" style setup, but I ran into a few problems so I don't have a viable sparge system. Thus, I shall just batch sparge and that will have to do. Oh well.

Its an all fuggles hop recipe, I plan on making a similar beer later down the line with all goldings, try to taste the difference.

Cheers!
